How does this treatment work?
Recreating an aesthetic and natural smile is a meticulous and creative job that also involves the passion and experience of our work team.
To perform this procedure, molds of the patient's teeth are taken and sent to the laboratory in order to recreate veneers as similar as possible to natural teeth.
At Óscar Vargas Centro Dental we use modern smile design techniques and select the best material for each case, in this way we can ensure our goal and yours: Smile with confidence!
Advantages of placing dental veneers
Veneers can improve the functionality and aesthetics of the teeth, giving a twist to the appearance of your smile.
They can improve the distribution of the teeth in cases where they present alterations in their shape or size.
They can return the white and natural shine to your smile, in cases where teeth are stained by different situations and where dental whitening treatment is not effective.
What schedule does Dr. Vargas use for this treatment?
The first diagnostic appointment is where Dr. Vargas examines the patient from the functional and aesthetic point of view, for a precise elaboration of the treatment plan. This will establish treatment goals based on the patient's wishes.
During this period, the patient uses temporary veneers that Dr. Vargas performs during the preparation appointment.
Great precision is applied to obtain all the aesthetic and functional characteristics as well as the definitive ones.
However, these veneers, being made of a transitory material, can only be used for a short period of time.
In the second appointment, a test will be carried out in the mouth to assess the final acceptance of the patient, in order to make the molds of the teeth to send them to the laboratory for the manufacture of the veneers.
In the third appointment, the placement of the porcelain veneers is performed with modern adhesive cementation protocols.
The fourth or final appointment corresponds to an appointment for final finishes and control.
In an oral rehabilitation, dental veneers or dental veneer in English, are used to improve and balance the patient's bite.
Is the procedure painful?
The procedure is conservative, so veneers are generally placed on the outermost layer of the tooth, which does not have direct sensitivity and therefore does not hurt. Anesthesia is placed on the patient; however, in many cases there is no need to do so.
What is your success rate?
The key to the success of veneers lies in their correct planning, which allows wear to be carried out conservatively and maintains a balanced functional bite environment. For this reason, veneers are in the group of oral treatments that last longer.
How long does this treatment last?
Scientific studies reported in the literature indicate that they can last more than 10 years.
It must be considered that the aspect of duration of a treatment will depend on different factors such as its correct diagnosis and daily care, which is essential for long-term success.
